Notch me in a nook

By Adrian Williamson

Notch me in a nook

With a good book

And look away

For I may be here

But I am not near

A sear would seek me

Elsewhere

Share with me instead

This our daily bread

Of active imagination

Salt to the butter

Of all that contemplation

And spread me thick

To liven the leaven

To live in the heaven

Of a good book
